Restorative Yoga is quite different from other forms of yoga. It doesn't require extreme flexibility or athletic ability. Restorative Yoga is a relaxation method that teaches you to relax through a series of gentle movements and stretches that are coordinated with Breath Work. These gentle experiences allow the mind and body to recover from the stress and strain that comes into our lives every day.

Restorative Yoga can be complimentary to many programs designed to reduce stress and increase your ability to relax.

Gentle stretches help your body release tension and increase flexibility.
Gentle stretches help to restore flexibility and comfort in your body. Teaching the body to relax is often the first step in helping the mind relax.

Within a very short time these easy to learn, easy to do techniques become something that you want to do regularly because you recognize how much better you feel when you do them.

While there are many pieces of equipment that can be purchased in your pursuit of Restorative Yoga, it is not necessary to buy anything. You can begin a very effective and safe program with materials already at hand, such things as pillows, blankets, towels, and chairs.
