Anger is one of our most dynamic and forceful emotions, and as such has the potential to move us powerfully. Emotions are not good or bad—they are simply a part of the human organism and it is what we DO with them that decides whether they are labeled positive or negative.
Anger Can Motivate
Anger can motivate someone to work at curing deadly diseases or improving social conditions for millions. Anger can also explode into furry that hurts others (and ourselves), and it is this that motivates the area of Anger Management Training.
Explosive Anger . . .

Realization and Interest
Anger Management Training is most effective when the person involved realizes the problem and is interested in helping to learn new patterns of behavior.

Anger Management Training
Negatively directed anger results from a learned pattern of thinking and responding to stimuli in the world. If something is learned, it can be "unlearned." The process of Anger Management requires:

Recognizing old patterns of thoughts and behaviors as cognitive distortions.
Learning new ways to think and respond (cognitive restructuring).
Choosing new thoughts and behaviors.

Highly Effective
The process of Cognitive Restructuring as applied to managing The Anger Response is highly effective for those who desire such help. Most individuals see major lasting improvement in as little as 5 training sessions.

Not Psycho-Therapy
Anger Management Training does not require a lifetime of psycho-therapy. It is not necessary to deal with all of the reasons for why negative patterns exist within an individual when responding to anger. What
IS necessary is a willingness to acknowledge that such reasons exist and to have a willingness to learn a new way of responding. Anger Management Training is a process of taking responsibility for self and desiring to change.

This May Be . . .
Many people know individuals who respond to nearly everything in life with anger and great violence. Some even react so strongly that we can think of them as nuclear-reactors! If you, or someone you know, has a desire to improve your reaction to stressful situations, Anger Management Training may be just what you need.
